Individual Credential:

Illinois Director Credential
For child care administrators

The Illinois Director Credential (IDC) is a voluntary certification program created to increase professionalism and recognition for administrators in early care and education. It is recognized as the state standard of measurement for management and leadership capabilities. An individual can achieve the IDC either by completing an approved program at a university or by completing a portfolio and documenting past accomplishments. The credential is offered at three levels including the Associate, Bachelors and Graduate Degrees.

Level 1 Credential
For entry level early care practitioners

The Level 1 Credential can be earned as the first step into the early childhood profession. Completion of the Level 1 Credential signifies a basic awareness level of knowledge and skills for working with young children. It's a 45-hour training course that can build on experiences with young children.
